Mary Sollway is a Washington, D.C. based fine artist who studied art and anthropology at The University of Maryland, College Park MD.

Featured artist in galleries and shows in Los Angeles and the Washington D.C. Metro Area from 1982 - present.

She uses acrylics and ink on paper and canvas, integrating memories of dreams and reality with explosions of color and shapes evoking feelings of passion and emotion. Clientele include those in California, Texas, Florida, New York, and the Washington D.C. metro area.

The abstract art that I do and desire to make are simple interpretations of what is in my mind and what I see around me. Sometimes these two things are not the same, making for a contrast between what I see and what is real in my mind. often resulting in a blend of linear and organized mixed with cloudy and random. Lines, shapes, and color are the vehicles that enable these interpretations to be expressed using a variety of mediums, such as acrylic, ink, watercolor, and oil.

Painting has been a part of my life for many years and I feel that with the beauty in our minds and the visions that we experience, it makes for a perfect scenario to express these in a way to remember.
